Finally Legit

I've been charting the market for 22 years and now I can finally say I am legitimate. I have just received my CMT (chartered market technician) designation. For anyone working in this business - and that includes individual investors - I recommend the CMT program, if not for the three letters you can add after your name but for the knowledge you will gain during the process.

Visit www.mta.org for more details. And no, they did not pay me or even ask me for the plug.

Hey, any thoughts on today's turnaround?

Today's turnaround? Do you want the real answer or the long winded, prove I am smart and should be paid lots of money answer? Here's both in one - it's a bear market.

In the newsletter, we went over the reasons why Tuesday was not the big bounce beginning the pundits thought it was. And in today's column I talk a little about it and how sector rotation tells us things are still not good.

Remember one of my favorite sayings - surprises happen in teh direction of the trend.

That's why it's called a TREND.

Congratulations. As a CFA, I know the satisfying feeling of accomplishing a professional certification program such as the CMT. As a level 1 Candidate for the CMT, I realize how much more studying awaites me. I've decided your newsletter would be a good studying tool.

Congratulations. Was this a formality or did you learn additional technical analysis techniques. I would have thought with your background you would have taught the courses.
